Recipe Card: Food app

Exploration for a food app called Recipe Card.

This idea was borne out of a frustration of mine: I have recipes all over the place. My paper cut-outs are stashed in a box near my kitchen, some are in my earmarked cookbooks, and the rest are in the plethora of online food links (or even worse, the ones I google every single time I want to use it.)

Enter Recipe Card—an app that helps consolidate all recipes into one convenient location. Voilà!

The app has three main functions:

  1. It gathers different recipe formats into one main space and unified layout,
  2. It digitizes and stores hand-written/hardcopy recipes (like Gramma’s coveted Christmas cookie recipes), and
  3. It suggests new recipes based on your favourites (think Netflix categories but for food lovers, like “Gluten-Free Gourmet”, “Healthyish” and “Feelin’ Fancy”.)

Features

For people who like it old school (such as myself), users can export the recipes as PDF cards and print them out the old-fashioned way.

There’s a section for tips, which includes cooking methods and food selection/budgeting.

For family food lovers, there’s also an option to share and exchange recipes with friends and family.

Bon appétit!
